Goals of Short-term Programs

Short-term programs aim to enhance at an accelerated rate the students’ proficiency level of Standard Arabic in terms of oral and written production competencies. Particular attention is given to the acquisition of vocabulary registers relating to contemporary political, social, and economic issues. The expansion of the lexicon range should allow direct access to oral and written sources pertaining to the subject of study and research.

Targeted Student Audience

Short-term programs are open to students who are non-native speakers of Arabic, irrespective of their proficiency level of Arabic, their academic course or year of study or their academic or career plans.

IMPORTANT: The opening of classes for scratch beginners of Arabic (conducted in French or English and depending on the native language of learners) is subject to the enrolment of at least 10 students.

Students interested in such programs should first submit an application file. The PEASS team will inform them in due course whether a beginners’ class would be on offer in their native language.
